Welfare room request- Donations required
Do you have any spare school uniform items that you could donate to our welfare room for small emergencies with our younger children?
We especially need small sizes of underwear, socks, tights and plimsolls to fit our younger children in Reception and Keystage 1.
Administration of medicines in school
Please click on the links below to view our guidance regarding the administering of medicines in school and to download a permission form.
Asthma
From 1st October 2014 the Department of Health requires each school in England to have an emergency inhaler available on site.
Children diagnosed with asthma must have their own inhalers brought to school which they use when needed.
In cases where their own inhaler is lost, damaged or out of date we could let them use the emergency inhaler at school in case of an asthma attack.
If you are happy for your child to be given the emergency inhaler should the situation arise, please sign and return to school the consent form which can be downloaded by clicking the link below.
Please note the school inhaler is only to be given in emergency and is not a replacement for the child’s own inhaler.
Vomiting and diarrhoea
If your child has vomiting or diarrhoea they must not return to school until 48 hours after the last episode.
Medical and Health Care plans
It is essential that children with medical needs have an up to date Care Plan in school to ensure that we can meet their needs. The plans are to ensure that ongoing medical needs such as asthma, eczema or an allergy, are known to school staff and the means to appropriately manage those needs is in place.
If your child has any medical need that the school should be aware of please contact the Welfare Assistant as soon as possible to discuss this further.
If your child currently has a care plan it is important that you renew it annually to ensure all information is up to date.
